There was an introduction to the operations of the SMB Model Enterprise, Engineer Workshop and "AzTU Technopark – Bilishim Vadisi Baku" established at the Azerbaijan Technical University.
The SMB Model Enterprise was established at the Azerbaijan Technical University to support the development of SMBs.
Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and Deputy Minister of Science and Education Idris Isayev got acquainted with the operations of the SMB Model Enterprise.
At the event attended by Vilayat Valiyev, Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairperson of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) under the Ministry of Economy, Adalat Samadov, first vice-rector of the National Aviation Academy, it was reported that through the Model Enterprise, students aspiring to start their own businesses in the future and SMB entities operating in the industrial sphere will be able to strengthen university-business cooperation while also gaining experience and improving their skills.
It will be possible to visually witness the real business process from the initial planning to the construction of the enterprise in the Model Enterprise established by KOBİA by researching international experience. The Model Enterprise is fitted with the essential equipment, which allows to clearly observe the operation of modern technological equipment, learn ways to save resources, time and costs. Basic knowledge about entrepreneurship will also be provided in the training rooms of the Model Enterprise.
There was also an introduction to the Engineer Development Program (MGP) Workshop established at the Azerbaijan Technical University in order to ensure the integration of the SMB Model Enterprise into the university-business model.
It was also noted that MGP was established jointly with the Azerbaijan Technical University and the National Aviation Academy on the basis of the industrial-oriented program of the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS). Within the scope of the program, it is planned to train on average 100 highly qualified engineers every year. This year, the MGP program is performed by TUSAS specialists. The program beneficiaries are young teachers of the Azerbaijan Technical University and the National Aviation Academy, senior bachelor's, master's and doctoral students.
Subsequently, during the meeting with "Azerbaijan Technical University - Technology Transfer Office" and Bilishim Vadisi Baku, it was said that Azerbaijan Technical University aims to form an auspicious ecosystem for supporting innovation activities in the higher education system through the engagement of companies, as well as for developing the ideas and practical skills of young people in this sense. In this regard, incubation and acceleration processes will also be supported.
