During the meeting, issues related to the diversification of economic and trade relations between Italy and Azerbaijan were discussed, and a number of documents were signed.
During the business visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Italy, an Italian-Azerbaijani round table was held with the support of the Ministry of Enterprises and “Made in Italy” of Italy, the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, the Agency for Promotion of Export and Investment (AZPROMO), and the Federation of Industries of Italy (Confindustria). Along with the government representatives, around 40 business leaders from accross diverse industries such as energy, chemical, automotive, machinery, pharmaceutical, agriculture, metallurgy, construction, food, and other fields were present at the event.
While pouncing on the strategic importance of bilateral connections, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov highlighted that Italy holds the position of being Azerbaijan's primary trading ally. It was noted that our country attaches great importance to strengthening multifaceted economic cooperation with Italy, which has resulted in many Italian companies succeeding in various economic sectors, including in the liberated territories. It was stressed that the talks and deals reached in this meeting will aid to fortify the relationship between the two nations and bring about new avenues for cooperation. Minister of Enterprises and "Made in Italy" of Italy Adolfo Urso and President of the Italian Industrial Confederation Emanuele Orsini, speaking at the round table, discussed the strategic energy partnership with Azerbaijan and opportunities for developing bilateral relations in the non-oil sector.
The event encompassed speeches delivered by AZPROMO's executive director Yusif Abdullayev, KOBIA's Board Chairman Orkhan Mammadov, Azerbaijan Investment Company's executive director Ulvi Mansurov, and ADA University's Vice-Rector Elkin Nurmammadov. They offered insights about Azerbaijan's export and investment capabilities and talked about collaborative opportunities and perspective projects. The parties also discussed strengthening cooperation in key areas such as industry, renewable energy sources, infrastructure, transportation, textiles, chemistry, and pharmaceuticals. Representatives of companies from both countries exchanged views on establishing and developing business partnerships.
During the event, memorandums of understanding were signed between the Agency for Promotion of Export and Investment – AZPROMO and the Italian Industrial Confederation (Confindustria), between "Mətanət A" and the Italian company Dromont Comec, between "Improtex Industries" LLC and the Italian company Leonardo Electronics, and between "Saloğlu" and the Italian companies Visionnaire - İPA and Biesse S.P.A. The document includes details on initiating new collaboration projects for both production and services, projects involving research and development, and exchanging experiences.
During the visit, members of the Azerbaijani delegation held meetings with representatives of the Italian Trade Agency, companies specializing in agriculture and food technologies, Annatura and Scorpio Group, as well as the Italian agricultural association Coldiretti to discuss prospects for mutually advantegous cooperation.
